Pixelhue QuadView 8K: one 8K60 signal, four synchronized 4K outputs
Hampus Niskala |19/10, 2026
Pixelhue showed the Pixelhue QuadView 8K for the first time at InfoComm 2026, and there is still very little written about it. We collected what has been shown publicly so far, so you can see whether it fits your next LED or projection project.
What is the Pixelhue QuadView 8K?
The QuadView 8K is not a classic video switcher like the Pixelhue Q8 or P20. It is a utility processor: it takes one very high-resolution signal and slices, scales and distributes it to several outputs that stay frame-locked to each other.
The typical use is a single computer, for example a MacBook Pro, driving one huge canvas. Instead of building a multi-output media server setup, you send one 8K signal into the QuadView 8K and it turns that into four synchronized 4K60 feeds for an ultra-wide LED wall, a projection blend or a row of displays.
Inputs: full uncompressed 8K at 60Hz
According to Pixelhue's InfoComm 2026 presentation, the QuadView 8K accepts full uncompressed 8K60 over:
- USB-C (Thunderbolt 5)
- HDMI 2.1
- DisplayPort 2.1 with DSC
- DisplayPort 2.1 uncompressed
Thunderbolt 5 input is the interesting part. It means a laptop can feed an 8K canvas over one cable, without a separate capture card or graphics workstation.
Outputs: four 4K60 feeds or 100G fiber
The signal can leave the QuadView 8K in two ways:
- Four DisplayPort 1.4 outputs, frame-locked, each at 4K60.
- 100G fiber links into Pixelhue processors or into SMPTE ST 2110 systems.
The fiber option is why Pixelhue also describes the unit as an 8K fiber extender. You can place the QuadView 8K next to the computer at front of house and run the full canvas over fiber to the processors at the stage.
Setup and control
The QuadView 8K is configured through a web interface. In demos the outputs can be set up in custom layouts, with flexible slicing and different resolutions per output, and it works with Mac sources. Pixelhue has said more features will be added as the product develops.
Who is it for?
- Rental and staging: drive a wide LED wall from one playback laptop, with all four outputs locked together.
- Corporate events and keynotes: run presentation content at 8K from a MacBook without a media server.
- Broadcast and AV-over-IP: bring an 8K computer source into an ST 2110 workflow over 100G fiber.
- Pixelhue system owners: extend 8K content from front of house to Pixelhue processors such as the Q8 over fiber.
