NovaStar MX20 is the entry-level all-in-one controller in the NovaStar COEX series: video processing and LED sending in one box, run from NovaStar's VMP software. It loads up to 3.9 million pixels over 6 Gigabit Ethernet ports, takes 2x HDMI 1.3 and 1x 3G-SDI, and has Genlock for camera work.
Need more inputs or capacity? See the MX30 (6.5 million pixels, 4K input) and MX40 Pro (9 million pixels). For a simpler single-HDMI setup, the KU20. Compare all NovaStar COEX controllers.
Key Features
Inputs: 2x HDMI 1.3 and 1x 3G-SDI, each with loop through, up to 1920×1200@60Hz.
Outputs: 6x Gigabit Ethernet ports (up to 3.9 million pixels), 2x 10G optical ports (OPT 2 copies OPT 1) and 1x SPDIF audio output.
Controls: Genlock IN and LOOP (Bi-Level, Tri-Level, Blackburst), Ethernet control ports and an auxiliary port.
Layers: 3 independent layers with Z-order priority (All-In-One Controller mode).
Image Scaling: custom, pixel to pixel, snap to canvas and fill screen.
Color Correction: 14Ch color correction for hue, saturation and brightness.
Full Grayscale Calibration: with NovaStar's calibration system and a CC60 or C3200 camera.
Low Latency: 0-frame latency in Send-Only Controller mode and 1-frame latency in All-In-One Controller mode, with optional extra latency of 0 to 2 frames.
No Rectangle Restriction: blank pixels on irregular screens don't count against load capacity.
Frame Rate Adaptability: decimal frame rates with a fine-tuning step as small as 0.01 Hz.
Dual Working Modes: All-In-One Controller mode unlocks layers and scaling; Send-Only Controller mode cuts latency by one frame.
System Monitoring: device and screen status with notifications for faults and alarms.
Cascading via Ethernet: TCP/IP control ports in star topology; up to 20 MX20 units can be cascaded without extra switches.
Function Limitations:
- Frame Rate Adaptive needs A10s Pro (or derivative) receiving cards, specific driver ICs and an NCP file from NovaStar's Cabinet Tool.
- Full Grayscale Calibration needs A10s Pro / A8s Pro (or derivative) receiving cards.
- Low Latency and Genlock cannot be used together. For low latency, all Ethernet ports must load cabinets vertically with the same Y coordinate.
- Interlaced HDMI input and USB playback are not supported.
Certifications: CE, RoHS, FCC, IC, UL, CB
